Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) Introductory Language Course – Winter, 2026

January 6, 2026 - March 3, 2026
Free – $180.00

Winter 2026 Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) Introductory Online Language Course

8 x 90 min classes on Tuesdays @ 5pm Eastern Time from January 6 – March 3

This course is open to everyone – both Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants who wish to learn to uplift language revitalization. If you are a non-Indigenous language learner, we invite you to review these reflections on what it means to be a non-Indigenous learner in an Indigenous language learning course.

We offer this language learning opportunity as a partnership between our charitable social enterprise and Natural Curiosity. It is also made possible by the TD Friends of the Environmental Foundation and the RCMP, which are both working to support Indigenous language revitalization.

Your Language Instructor:

Sarah Wood is a member of Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation and currently resides in Peterborough, ON, where she is completing her PhD in Indigenous Studies at Trent University. She has been learning Anishinaabemowin for 6 years. She is also a part-time faculty member at Brock University, Trent University and Biidwewdamowaad Nimkiig Biidaabang teaching Anishinaabemowin and an immersion facilitator and language teacher at Ninaatigoons Learning.

From a past course participant: “I would recommend this learning opportunity to anyone who is interested in the language. It is a low floor, high ceiling learning opportunity – we were given the tools to do a lot, or a little, depending on what we were comfortable with. If Sarah Wood is teaching a language class, take it!”
