Learning outside in Winter can be just wonderful! Join Jacob and Dave as they share the possibilities for learning about and with wildlife in Winter. Learn to investigate the world using all your senses and follow the mystery and intrigue of animal tracks and traces. Sharing about wildlife with students, offering experiential activities opens the possibilities for cross curricular academic success all whilst having the most FUN!
Facilitators
- Dave Quinn is a Kimberley-based outdoor educator, certified teacher, and wildlife biologist who has worked with grizzly, lynx, fisher, badger, mountain caribou and other local threatened and endangered species throughout the Kootenays. Dave has been designing and delivering place-based education programs that help connect people to the wild around them for over 30 years. He and his family are honoured to live in Ktunaxa ?ama?kis.
- Jacob Rodenburg, nature sommelier, is an award-winning educator, executive director of Camp Kawartha, a summer camp and outdoor education center, and instructor in environmental education at Trent University. He has taught more than 100,000 students and is co-author of The Big Book of Nature Activities, The Book of Nature Connection and The Wild Path Home.
