Megan has over 25 years experience as an elementary school teacher and spent ten years of her career teaching Kindergarten to fifth grade entirely outdoors in a school garden. She is currently employed as an Early Learning & Curriculum Teacher Consultant in a BC school district. Megan is in the process of completing her PhD at the University of British Columbia. Her research interests include developing professional learning networks with in-service teachers to weave systems of schooling with emerging pedagogies of place and play. Megan has extensive experience teaching in public school outdoor classrooms and school gardens and is a qualified Master Gardener. She consults broadly on school garden pedagogy, risky play, and emergent learning in the school context. Learn more about her work.
