Join this trio of incredible garden educators & practitioners in talking all things ‘Learning in the Garden’. Highlighting how easy STEM and other subjects can be taught through gardening. This workshop will be packed full of useful tools, resources and ideas for how to share learning through gardening with students – and the beautiful growth in students you can expect to see as a result. 

All registrants will be entered to win some great draw prizes and will receive a link to the recording. All attendees will be able to access a Certificate of Attendance.

  • Kaci Rae Christopher is an educator and writer passionate about fostering a healthy land ethic, personal empowerment, and environmental literacy in children of all ages through outdoor immersion and skill-building. She is the author of The School Garden Curriculum: An Integrated K-8 Guide for Discovering Science, Ecology, and Whole-Systems Thinking
  • Sarah Pounders is a Senior Education Specialist at KidsGardening (which published Math in the Garden: Hands-on Activities that bring Math to Life) and has been active in the field of youth gardening for almost 30 years with experience coordinating numerous children’s gardens, writing curricula and activities for youth of all ages, teaching formal and informal youth education programs, and conducting educator training sessions. Growing up surrounded by plants instilled a deep love of gardens and the desire to share that love with others. She also enjoys gardening at home with her two children and volunteering with youth garden programs in her community.
  • Em Shipman is the Executive Director of KidsGardening (which published Math in the Garden: Hands-on Activities that bring Math to Life) a lifelong community builder and has led transformative programs in food systems, agriculture, and education for 20+ years. She is a fierce advocate for both children and the environment. She believes garden-based learning and place-based education are key to nurturing curious, mindful, and engaged kids. Em believes that when kids have access to healthy food and hands-on outdoor learning, they unlock their full potential. Her mission is to help shape the next generation of leaders who will drive the social and environmental change needed to heal our planet.
