Connecting to the Land, the Métis Way Summer Course

July 8 - July 29

This course introduces educators, parents and adult learners to children’s resources on Métis knowledge, culture and history connected to the land.

Join Leah Marie Dorion in discovering resources that include translations into Michif and offer incredibly vibrant illustrations giving insight into Métis life.

Your Facilitators: 

Leah Marie Dorion is a Métis artist, author, curriculum developer, lecturer and researcher. She has taught Métis History and Native Studies for the First Nations University of Canada, the Gabriel Dumont Institute and the University of Saskatchewan. She is also a visual artist and an instructor at the Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program.

Jade Berrill is a Physical Geographer (BSc), Environmental Educator, Outdoor Instructor and Guide. She is the Director of Learning for the The Outdoor Learning Store, and has been designing & delivering environmental and nature based programs for over fifteen years, across four continents and seven countries.
