We are very pleased to kick the school year off by featuring one of our most excellent education partners, Classrooms to Communities

If you don’t already know about Classrooms to Communities, now you have no excuse! Based in British Columbia, Canada, the C2C Education Network connects classrooms and communities across the province to grow collaboration, leadership and mentorship capacity for place-based education and environmental literacy. Do you believe in the power of community? If so, read on!

The C2C Education Network is a made-in-B.C. collaborative of partners providing place-based educational leadership and support to teachers, school districts and community partners through local, regional and provincial initiatives, events and activities across B.C.

C2C aspires to…

    • Connect and inspire K-12 teachers, students and community partners
    • Support place-based learning through professional development and other activities and strategies
    • Communicate and celebrate place-based learning success stories
    • Collaborate in a province-wide network of local and regional education leaders, partners and stakeholders

The most exciting news out of C2C is their upcoming PSA Day Provincial Conference which is proudly supported and co-hosted by us at The Outdoor Learning Store.

Participants will…

  • Reconnect with inspiring colleagues, friends and community leaders
  • Explore transformative approaches to place and land-based learning
  • Engage in community-connected field experiences around the region
  • Eat, drink, dance and rejuvenate in the mountain air

Program Highlights:

  • Friday, October 21, Revelstoke Mountain Resort
  • Welcome & Plenary Gathering
  • Engaging Workshops & Networking Sessions
  • C2C Exhibitor Fair & Afternoon Social with Live Music
  • Saturday, October 22, Revelstoke Mountain Resort & Area

We’ve also collaborated with C2C on an amazing ‘Classrooms to Communities Resource Set’ that will set any educator up for success in creating programming or lessons for outdoor, sustainability or environmental education.

It’s a one stop shop to support your K-8 prep with these resources offering educators activities, lesson plans, Indigenous perspectives and the development of an understanding of concepts and practices related to sustainability, stewardship and citizenship.

Whether you are looking for professional development and networking events, resources and community connections, or just want to share your success stories, there are many ways you can join the C2C Network. https://www.c2c-bc.org/join-us
