Strong Nations is an Indigenous-owned and operated online book and gift store and a publishing house. At Strong Nations, we focus on publishing works by Indigenous authors and illustrators, mainly for use in education. A secondary focus includes publishing resources that supplement Indigenous offerings, building on and supporting themes such as respect for the environment, community building through sharing culture and stories, and social responsibility. All the resources we publish are made in Canada. And, many of our titles are also available in French or feature Indigenous languages in a dual- or triple-language format.

As one of the few Indigenous-owned and operated publishers in Canada, we are proud to prioritize the publication of Indigenous works and the sharing of Indigenous voices. All Strong Nations Publishing’s resources are accessible through our online store, www.strongnations.com. Here, in our book and gift store, you’ll also find other Indigenous books and complementary resources available. Our extensive collection of resources includes authentic Indigenous stories and voices from around the globe, as well as teaching resources, books for use in the classroom, and more!

Many of Strong Nations Publishing’s books and learning environment resources work together, include free lesson plans, and are written for the educational market, making them ideal for educators, classrooms, and schools. Popular series include the Strong Stories series, We Are All Connected series, and Strong Readers series. The Strong Stories series focuses on Indigenous communities from across Canada and the United States. These stories reflect the belief that our stories are the roots of our people, our lands, and our cultures. It is from our stories that we grow and become strong and proud. We Are All Connected is a series that explores how we all live together in a shared balance upon Mother Earth. Each book explores a specific ecosystem with a focus on one animal and its adaptations for survival within that ecosystem. Indigenous interviewees, each living within the same area, have responded to strategic questions as to how their community interacts with the land, their traditional territory. The Strong Readers series is a popular guided/leveled reading series full of science, social responsibility, language arts, and oral language teachings. An Educator Resource Guide for the series is available, along with various other supporting resources, such as posters and memory matching games. The former two series are available through Outdoor Learning Store. To view all of Strong Nations’ resources, visit www.strongnations.com
